HAMMOND – The American Archive of Public Broadcasting, a collaboration between GBH and the Library of Congress, recently announced the launch of the Southeastern Louisiana University radio show Rock School Special Collection. According to AAPB, the new collection is a must-listen for fans of rock and roll, music history, and American pop culture.
The Rock School Special Collection features more than 900 episodes from the long-running music history radio series Rock School, produced by Southeastern’s radio station 90.0 The Lion (formerly known as KSLU). Since 2007, the show has aired weekly, exploring the stories behind iconic songs, influential artists, and major music trends.
From “American Pie” to Taylor Swift, and the Woodstock Festival to AI-generated lyrics, Rock School offers a wide-ranging look at the evolution of music and the cultural moments that shaped it. The series is hosted by music artists and historians Dr. Joe and Tammy Burns, who bring deep knowledge and enthusiasm to every episode, the AAPB said.
