The second production of the season November 20-23 is the World Premiere and the Eleventh Annual Southeastern Inkslinger Playwriting Contest Winner, Near Nellie Bly written by Mark Lowenstern and directed by Chad Winters. The play tells the story of one of the first undercover journalists, Nellie Bly, who in 1887 admitted herself as a patient in a New York mental asylum and blew the whistle on the horrific conditions the patients endured there. Shows at 7:30 on the second floor of Cate Teacher Education Center, 1200 N. General Pershing, Hammond, LA 70401. Tickets are $20 and $15 discounted and free for SLU students with I.D.
