Damon Sunde

Damon Sunde, Assistant Athletic Director for Broadcast Services (KSLU GM)

Damon Sunde joined the Southeastern Louisiana University Athletic Media Relations staff full time in October, 2011.

Currently the Assistant Athletic Director for Broadcast Services, Sunde serves as the General Manager of KSLU Radio (90.9 The Lion) and the media contact for the Southeastern baseball program. He has served as the “Voice of Southeastern Baseball” since the 2004 season.

He also provided play-by-play for both men's and women's basketball as well as serving in various capacities during football broadcasts.

In his first season with the Lions’ baseball team, Sunde handled the publicity for All-Americans Brock Hebert and Stefan Lopez, the National Stopper of the Year. In all, he's had the privilege of helping promote 17 student-athletes that earned All-America honors.

Sunde worked at Clear Channel Communications in Baton Rouge for 10 years, serving in a variety of roles for its numerous FM and AM radio stations (1150 AM WJBO, 1210 AM The Score, WYNK 101.5 FM, WFMF 102.5 FM, The River 96.1 FM).

He was the Communication Director for the Baton Rouge River Bats of the Southeastern Professional Baseball League in 2002 and served as Director of Media Relations/Broadcasting for the Alexandria Aces of the Central Baseball League in 2003. For the 2001-02 season, he served as radio play-by-play broadcaster for the Baton Rouge Kingfish of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL).

A 2011 graduate of Southeastern, Sunde is a member of the Louisiana Association of Broadcasters, College Sports Communicators, the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and the Louisiana Sports Writers Association. He and his wife, Kristen, live in Hammond with their dogs, Jimi (Hendrix) and Stevie (Nicks).
