Don Ellzey, News Reporter
Don Ellzey, long time publisher and owner of the Ponchatoula Enterprise, is the news director at KSLU, Southeastern Louisiana University's public radio station.
Ellzey joined the KSLU staff after retirement from the Ponchatoula weekly. He began his newspaper career in 1962 working for the Enterprise. After a stint in the military and state government, he returned to journalism as an editor for the Daily News in Jennings, Louisiana. In 1973 he joined the staff of the Lake Charles American Press as the legislative, city government and police reporter until he purchased the Ponchatoula Enterprise in 1984.
Ellzey graduated from Louisiana State University in 1968.
The News with Don Ellzey airs from 6-9 a.m. on weekday mornings, while news updates are broadcast at 3 p.m., 4 p.m., and 5 p.m.
